Free car wash
Where: Rickmansworth Fire Station
When: Saturday 10am to 4pm
Seats: Optional donation
Prudent readers, and ladies with a thing for firemen, take note…this Saturday you can get a free (kind of) car wash courtesy of the staff Rickmansworth Fire Station. It’s all in aid of charity, so you’ll be obliged to make a donation to the Fire Fighters' Charity after the car wash, but basically it’s free. The Fire Fighters Charity provides a range of services that preserve the quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families. So, if you think you like the idea of fireman throwing a bucket of water or two over the car this weekend, you know where you have to sometime between 10am and 4pm on Saturday (pic courtesy of Gregory Brown).
Book sale

When: Saturday 10am to 4pm

Chorleywood Cricket Club is hosting a new and used book sale on Saturday to raise money for the worthy Help For Heroes charity. Included in the sale will be antique books, some of which will be signed. There will also be a bar open, tea and coffee and the chance to win a London Wasps shirt and a signed Surrey CC bat. More details are available on 01923 285825.
Swan Lake
Where: Watersmeet, Rickmansworth
When: Saturday 2.30pm and 7.30pm

This Saturday Vienna Festival Ballet bring their version of Swan Lake to town, with the music of Tchaikovsky, lavish costumes and some stunning scenery, this is an opportunity for theatre fans that shouldn’t be missed.
